Hosted in this archive are several highly optimized cryptographic algorithms for Visual Basic. All implementations support byte encryption/decryption, string encryption/decryption, file encryption/decryption, a hexadecimal conversion option, a stable progress event, speed string concatenation and fast memory mapping making each implementation fast and useful for the Visual Basic environment. All work with Visual Basic 5.0, 6.0 and VB.NET. They should work with 4.0 however none have been tested.

While Visual Basic isn't the language of choice for speed it is definitely a powerhouse in today's programming community and is used to develop thousands of windows applications in both the commercial and private sector. The need for good strong cryptographic algorithms in Visual Basic is a must and that is what I provide here.

The algorithms provided in this archive are all available at it's web-page:

Now for my "self-promoting rant" as someone once called it. I am a 20 year old hard worker and very keen programmer. I spend a tremendous amount of my time studying security engineering and cryptography. I am currently working as a network tech in a state level job but will soon be leaving for active duty in the United States Air Force in the communications/electronics field. While I am definetly not on the Ph.D level I am a fast learner and a decent intellectual who thoroughly studies anything I find interest in.

I compose electronic dance music as a hobby at www.mp3.com/frequency12. If you don't like electronic music then you obviously won't like my music so please refrain from acting like this one teenage idiot who likes sending me mail telling me I suck at composing. It's all relative to a person's taste. Check out my music if you are interested.

Best Regards,
David Midkiff
